The Takeuchi Collection

Daisuke and Sakiyo Takeuchi are glass artists based in Azumino, Japan. Daisuke has been working with glass since 1998, while Sakiyo began her journey in 2009. Together they create intricate murrine based works that draw from traditional Japanese glass techniques. Daisuke is especially known for his highly detailed Tonbodama, core form, and geometric pattern work, while Sakiyo’s work often focuses on botanical themes, ornamentation, and delicate compositions in murrine. This collection features a wide range of work by the artists, including Tonbodama, pendants, murrine discs, tiles, and core formed vessels. This release marks the first group of work by Daisuke and Sakiyo to be made available in the United States in over four years.
We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to share their work and honored to present this collection through Level 42.
