This is a Core Formed Vessel by Japan based glass artist Daisuke Takeuchi titled “Snowflake”.
“Snowflake” features an intricate arrangement of floral, feather, and snowflake murrine assembled into a delicate symmetrical composition across the surface of the vessel. Soft white, pale blue, and cool gray tones give the piece a quiet winter atmosphere, while the fine lace like patterning and layered detail reveal themselves more deeply with closer inspection.
This is a two part vessel consisting of a decorative top and a base with detailed murrine walls, twisted cane lip wraps, and a snowflake murrine cluster in the center of the interior base. The vessel comes with a custom wooden presentation box handmade in Japan. Daisuke’s core formed works draw from one of the oldest known methods of glass vessel making while pushing the technique to remarkable levels of precision, symmetry, and detail.
