The “Dodecahedron Universe” is the iconic Holoscope by Gary Allison. Gary is based in Arizona and has been creating Holoscopes for over 27 years.
The Dodecahedron Universe is constructed with hand-cut internal mirrors. Its exterior is built from individually cut and beveled pieces of colored soft glass, all set within a grout frame. Gary also incorporates mini glass marbles into the vertices of the dodecahedron, allowing light and color to enter the piece from different angles.
A single glass window offers a view inside, revealing an almost infinite reflection of the Holoscope’s core. The mirrored geometry creates an incredible sense of depth and internal space within an object that fits in your hand.
