The Cosmic Egg is one of Gary Allison’s most intricate creations. Gary is based in Arizona and he has been creating Holoscopes for over 27 years. This piece represents some of his most ambitious work.
The Cosmic Egg is filled with 30 hand cut internal mirrors. Its exterior is constructed from individually cut and beveled pieces of colored soft glass, all set within a grout frame. Gary also incorporates 50 mini clear glass marbles into the exterior grout vertices, allowing a unique mix of light and color to enter the piece from different angles.
A single glass window offers a view inside, revealing an almost infinite reflection of the Holoscope’s core. The Cosmic Egg creates more depth and a greater sense of internal space than any Holoscope Gary has made.
