Bishop 2 day class
This is a 2 day class with Sierra Nevada based glass artist Randall Bishop (@bishop3333) hosted on April 3rd-4th, 2020. Here is a class description from the man himself!
“Together we will wander on and off the trail, exploring place, the narrative that exists there, and the forms that can be drawn from it’s source. Getting lost, we often discover something new. Delve into making meaningful sculpture through exploring the story around us. Using borosilicate glass rods and tubing, starting with technical exercises, building the skills needed to develop your own visual voice. Idea development will be supported by our environment, personal reflection, or wider world happenings. Each student will have the opportunity to create artwork that engages with the moment we are in and the place we currently exist. Technical lessons will focus on how to flamework in a detailed manner. There will be a focus on hollow sculpture, but all aspects of sculpting will be addressed.” All levels of skill are welcome to this class.
The class will run from 11am-7pm each day and as a bonus there will be open torch time in the evenings, we have 5 torch spots that can be shared amongst students for practice and collaboration. Lunches from local restaurants are included each day. If you have any questions about this class feel free to send us a DM on Instagram or an email to [email protected]
